One month today, Jimmy and I took possession of our first home. I fully intended sharing pictures by now, however time has this ability to get away from me. Summer is soo short around here that it just makes sense to spend time outside with my boys.
Ok so still no pictures of my humble abode. However, I do have some pictures of my Canada Day weekend to tide you over a bit.
I headed to Midland (and surrounding areas) this past Canada Day weekend for a huge family party. And I can honestly say, there is no other gang of people I’d rather party with than my own family. Friday night was THE wildest drunkfest I’ve ever participated in and/or witnessed. Seriously! And I’ve celebrated numerous graduations, 19th birthdays and bachelorette parties.
Thank goodness my cousin owns 86 acres of land. We were isolated, which enabled drunken fools to rock out till 5:30am. Man, my dad is a rockstar. Jammed along with whoever wanted to sing. Oh yeah, we had microphones….sorta like karaoke, but kicked up because we had live guitars and tons of booze.
Let me introduce you to my little shadow for the weekend - Natasha.
She kills me!! And I mean c'mon, anyone who thinks I'm cool is cool in my books. Everyone wanted to be rockstars on Friday night!! Worse, everyone thought they could sing!! See below for prime example. Who told me I should be up anywhere near a microphone!?!? It's not a party unless there is a fire to stand around. At least in my family it isn't. The bigger the better.
And forget the marshmellows and weiners. We throw tuxedos and beer bottles in the fire!! My cousin Renee. Moved to BC to become an actress. Huge goals. Soo proud of her. And miss her to pieces too. This is a killer picture. I'd drive the 6 hours to Midland anyday to see this guy. Anyone have a cousin (or whoever) who means soo much to you that just the sight of him makes you cry? No?? Well then it's just me. This guy, soo accomplished, soo proud of him, love him to pieces. We grew up together, celebrated our birthdays together, and he protected me from boys (lol) in high school. Marc, I love you!! Friday night hurt the whole lot of us, but we woke Saturday and dragged our tired bodies to the park to watch cousin Nicholas play in the park. Me and my two favorite cousins. I love these girls. OH YEAH, totally ashamed of myself. While MIA, I wasn’t able to thank Jamie for my RAK. Sooo much fun. Jamie effing rocks!! Thanks my sweet!!
P.S. On the music/television front……. a little ashamed to admit this but damn that Paris Hilton song is catchy. I cheered when she died in House of Wax along with the rest of the world but I I dig her singing debut.
And yeah, now that I’ve blown all my music credibility to hell, you’ll probably roll your eyes and ignore this…..but seriously
Lukas Rossi is no joke!!! Rockstar Supernova is my newest obsession. I cannot wait to see what this guy will sing next. Rockstar may just crown another Canadian this season.
(Got a major case of 'Rebel Yell' on the brain. It's been stuck in my head since last week.)
